7.8.2 Description

The application of wind stress was described in Section 5.11. No changes are made for an AD simulation class, other than if the Kondo model is deployed.

7.8.3 Kondo

The Kondo model can be selected and atmospheric stability enabled.

If this is the case (and atmospheric heat exchange is therefore simulated), then the computed Kondo bulk momentum transfer coefficient (Equation (B.111)) is further modified by a stability parameter \(S_W\) (Equations (B.92) and (B.112)). \(S_W\) is computed from air and water temperatures, and air and water specific humidities.
