7.6 Vertical Mixing

7.6.1 Command Status

Information Only - For 3D simulations vertical scalar mixing is inherited from the 3D HD simulation class.

7.6.2 Description

Vertical scalar mixing in the AD module is controlled by the same vertical turbulence closure adopted for the hydrodynamic solution (Section 6.5). AD does not define a separate vertical mixing model family, instead tracer and temperature vertical mixing inherit the 3D HD vertical mixing configuration and coefficients. For this reason vertical mixing commands are configured in the 3D HD setup and are not repeated here.
