ERROR 10319 - Failed mass conservation check in destratification routine.

Description

The destratification unit’s inflow and outflow rates did not balance to within acceptable tolerance. This flow imbalance typically occurs when:

  • The water body is already well-mixed (and therefore no density stratification to destratify)
  • The specified air flow rate exceeds the unit’s design capacity
  • The unit intake or discharge positioning is incorrect

Suggestions

Verify the model inputs during the error timestep. Check the water temperature/density profile immediately before the error.

If the water body is already well-mixed the destratification operation may not be needed at that time. Consider switching off air flow during well-mixed periods using an operational control block.

If the water body is stratified, review the destratification unit configuration as follows. - Check the specified air flow rate and number of units. Is the total air flow rate typical for the unit’s design capacity? - Enable structure flux output reporting and review the entrained and detrained fluxes in the context of overall water body volume. Reduce the air flow rate or number of units if the fluxes are too high - Verify the structure operational elevation is correct and if the model water level has gone below the structure elevation - Review operational control settings and timing
