WARNING 10082 - Culvert/s <culvert_id>’s width of <culvert_width> <units> exceeds nodestring length by <nodestring_length> <units>. Increase nodestring length to ensure adequate 1D/2D connection width.

Description

The total width of the culvert barrels is greater than the length of the associated nodestring. The nodestring defines the 1D/2D connection at the culvert and must be at least as long as the total culvert width to ensure the full flow area is connected to the 2D domain.

Suggestions

Extend the nodestring so its total length is at least equal to the total culvert width. The total culvert width is the number of barrels multiplied by the barrel width. The GIS messages output file shows the location of the culvert nodestring. In some cases the model mesh may need to be adjusted to improve flow path representation at the culvert inlet or outlet.
