WARNING 10069 - Wet depth is less than dry depth. Momentum will never be switched off

Description

The Cell Wet/Dry Depths command sets a dry depth (hdry) as the first argument and a wet depth (hwet) as the second argument in meters or feet. Cells with depth below hwet have their momentum switched off. Cells below hdry are fully deactivated. The intended configuration is that hdry is smaller than hwet, so there is a shallow buffer zone where cells remain active but carry no momentum.

When hwet is not larger than hdry, this buffer zone does not exist. No cell depth is both above the dry threshold and below the wet threshold, so momentum is never suppressed before a cell goes fully dry. This can lead to non-physical velocities or unstable model behaviour in shallow depths.

Suggestions

Ensure the wet depth is greater than the dry depth in Cell Wet/Dry Depths ==. If unsure, the defaults (hdry = 1e-5 m, hwet = 1e-2 m) are suitable for most models.
