9. GPKG Time Series
9.1 Loading¶
GPKG time series result files can be loaded by dragging and dropping the .gpkg file into the QGIS Map Canvas from a file explorer or from the Browser Panel. TUFLOW Viewer will automatically load the GIS layers into the workspace. The GIS layers are directly tied to the GPKG time series result, and the result can be closed by removing the relevant GIS layers from the QGIS project.
Note: GPKG time series results will also be loaded via the TPC file. However, it is also possible to load GPKG time series results independently of the TPC file, which is what the above instructions refer to.
9.2 Styling¶
The styling defaults to using a temporally varying style, controlled by flow for lines and level for points (if those result types exist). The default styling uses a colour ramp to show the variation in results, updating as the time step changes. This can be changed to use line thickness rather than colour by changing the "Method" from "Color" to "Size" in the Styling Panel.
The styling can also be changed by right-clicking the relevant layer in the Layers Panel and selecting "TUFLOW" and selecting the desired style. The options will be styling temporally using a different result type, or styling using a static style ("Shape" for EPA-SWMM results or "Type" for ESTRY results).
9.3 Plotting¶
The GPKG time series result format is supported in the following plot types:
Time Series Plot
Section Plot*
*Only 1D and SWMM results are supported in the Section Plot.
The GPKG time series result only supports plotting using the selection tool. See the Plot Window documentation for more information on plotting.
Within the Section Plot, the generated long sections can be limited to a section of channels by selecting an upstream and downstream channel. It is also possible to select more than two channels, as long as one of the selected channels is downstream of all the other selected channels (this will be treated as multiple branches).
Note: Selected channels (or PO/RL features) are linked to a specific time step. If the time step changes, the selection may disappear in the Map Canvas but it will still be active in TUFLOW Viewer.
